Under the RCEP framework, China and Indonesia and other ASEAN countries should capitalize on their complementary strengths to increase intra-regional trade and promote mutual investment, thereby further boosting their respective economic and employment growth. In terms of specific areas, China's comparative advantage over Indonesia is mainly reflected in the export of electromechanical products and manufactured goods, such as the construction of many engineering projects in Indonesia's power plant construction by Chinese enterprises, and the large-scale equipment to match these projects as well as related products need to be imported in large quantities from China.
